DaVinci Gourmet Australian Coffee Chain Championships

The DaVinci Gourmet Australian Coffee Chain Championships are a unique concept which provides Australia’s highly skilled coffee chain baristas with an opportunity to showcase their coffee making expertise.

Teams of four will represent their coffee chain in uniform, under pressure, in front of a large enthusiastic audience. The teams will be made up of three baristas and a manager to act as team captain.

Competition will comprise three rounds: Latte Art, Seasonal Beverage and Service Time.

In the Latte Art round, the team captain will spin the Dairy Farmers Latte Art Wheel three times, to choose three patterns for the team to replicate.

In the Seasonal Beverage round, the teams will use DaVinci Gourmet syrups to prepare and present a hot or cold beverage. The baristas will then provide a business case for why the beverage should be included on the chain’s drink menu as they present it to the judges.

In the Service Time round, the team captain selects a card at random, which will replicate a café order card of 20 coffee orders. The team will have 10 minutes to prepare the 20 drinks under the direction of the team captain. They will be judged on accuracy, time, consistency, cleanliness, and service to the judges.

Entry Conditions

Coffee chains must comprise a franchise model or constitute a chain of businesses, with each business operated by an individual or group storeowner. Entry outside of the above criteria will be at the discretion of ASCA and ASCA reserves the right to refuse entry to the Championships.

In order to register a company for the Championships, the parent company must be a “Large Business” member of ASCA. For companies with multiple brands, only one team per brand may be entered, but each brand can be entered as a separate team. There is an entry fee per team entered.
